About The Burnout Pharmacist

My Name is Dr. Joel Wood. I am a New York State Licensed Pharmacist turned Health Coach. As a pharmacist I loved working with people to give them the best health advice possible. It was not just about medications; diet, exercise, sleep are all important to maintain your optimal health. I found myself overworked, exhausted, and couldn't find happiness anywhere - I was burnt out. It was time for a change for myself and now I share my knowledge and passion through health coaching.

Burnout is a state in which the mind/body/soul are not aligned. Your body is drained, exhausted, tired. Your mind is tired and fried. Your soul is just smoking embers craving a gust of air or gasoline to become a roaring fire.

As a former retail pharmacist, I’ve experienced the effects of burnout firsthand. Unfortunately, in many fields – including healthcare professions – chronic stress and burnout is considered normal. But while it may be common, it has devastating effects on peoples’ wellbeing and health.
